🎂 This month we celebrated our brilliant city’s special birthday with our Glasgow 850 activity day! Our members made some fantastic Glasgow art including Rennie Mackintosh roses, built the Clyde bridges, had fun at the Girlguiding Glasgow garden festival and travelled back in time with our lovely friends from Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust. 🎨🌉💐🚌 We were very grateful to be supported by the Glasgow 850 celebration fund. 😊 Thank you to all our fantastic Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Young Leaders and volunteers who showed as always that People Make Glasgow! 🎉🥰🌟

Girlguiding Glasgow was represented at today’s city Remembrance service at Glasgow Cathedral by Guides from 263rd Glasgow. They formed part of the guard of honour before the service and laid our county wreath inside the cathedral

Rangers and young leaders took a road trip to Cumbria to visit our friends at Girlguiding North West England for their Adventures… by the Mountain event!
Activities included zip line, crate stacking, archery, tomahawks, Jacob’s ladder, leap of faith and much more. A little bit of rain and mud didn’t put the girls off as they rose to the challenge! 🚌 🗻🧗🏻‍♀️ 🏹 💙😄

🥰 We are sooo proud of our fabulous county president, Morag Liddell, who has been presented with the Silver Fish award! 🐟🌟This is the highest honour in Girlguiding and has been presented to Morag in recognition of her incredible achievements and dedication to Guiding at every level from our county where she is so active and has run amazing trips to World Centres, right up to internationally, as a board member of the Olave Baden-Powell Society. 🌍 Morag was presented with this prestigious award by Scottish chief commissioner Elaine Rough, at a celebration attended by her family and many Guiding friends. Congratulations Morag! 🎉🌟🎉

🤩 We're sooo proud of our brilliant Young Leader, Lainie, who is one of Girlguiding Scotland's new Speak Out champions! She's part of a group of fantastic young women from across the country who are creating a manifesto for Scotland's girls in the run-up to next year's election. 🗳 Huge congratulations to Lainie and we can't wait to see all the great things this year's Speak Out champions will do! 📢🌟

We’re super excited to officially launch our 2025-2026 Speak Out cohort this International Youth Day 📢

21 Speak Out champions from across Scotland have been working hard since February to create a manifesto for girls ahead of the Scottish general election. They’ve been making new friends, learning new skills, and having lots of fun along the way.

"Speak Out, Girlguiding Scotland’s youth voice, is a central part of our work to make sure that all girls know they can do anything. Working as a team across Scotland to make change on the issues that matter to them, our Speak Out Champions learn vital skills for life. Effective policy cannot be made without the voices of those whose lives it impacts most, and we know girls’ voices have to be at the core. Our Champions are powerful advocates for change, and we can’t wait to see everything they will achieve." - Katie, lead volunteer for girl voice.

😃 Girlguiding Glasgow members are having an exciting summer! Some of our fantastic volunteers had the opportunity to attend the royal garden party at Holyrood. They had an amazing day and even shook hands with the Queen! 👑 Thank you all for everything you do for the county and for these wonderful photos 🥰

Just like that our adventure is over! We have had a blast of a week making new friends and taking part in a mixture of activities such as chocolate factory tour, watersports, cultural tours, local markets and croissant making. 🍫 ⛵️ 🛶 ⛪️ 🥐 💙
