The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity group is expanding its network to provide enhanced support and resources for families of children undergoing treatment in hospital in Glasgow.
Through substantial funding from Alison and Steve Timoney, Crossbasket House (formerly known as Ronald McDonald House Glasgow) will provide on-site accommodations and wraparound support services, including emotional, financial and practical support to hospital families when they need it most.
Since 2001, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has invested over £45 million in support services and improvements at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow and its related maternity, neonatal and paediatric facilities across the West of Scotland.
“Many families with critically ill children travel from remote parts of Scotland, facing weeks or months of uncertainty in the hospital,” said Kirsten Watson, CEO, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. “Crossbasket House will be a lifeline for countless parents and caregivers in the years to come. We are truly grateful to Alison and Steve Timoney for their remarkable donation and unwavering commitment to our children and their families.”
