A lovely service today when Goli, Azin and Fatemeh were baptised and admitted into the congregation by Rev Elisabeth Spence. We have all got to know them over the last year and are delighted that they were able to profess their faith publicly this morning.

Our service tomorrow, 14th June, will be led, once again, by Elisabeth Spence when we will admit 3 new members to our congregation. I know some of us may be a bit bleary eyed after the football during the night however I’m sure many will make it along to the service. Look forward to seeing you there 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a lovely service this morning as we celebrated the service given to our church by Fiona Salkeld who retired today as organist. Elisabeth Spence, who was a former minister here gave a heartfelt tribute to Fiona and we read out a lovely letter from our most recent minister, Tara Granados, who also thanked Fiona, and her late husband Jim, for all their help to her ministry. Fiona was presented with a small watercolour of Robin Hood’s Bay and cheque from the congregation and a plaque was put on to the organ in thanks for the many years of service. Fiona surprised us all by playing the last hymn, Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory, and the closing music Gaudiamus Igitur. We then all gathered together in the cafe for lunch. A great celebration of Fiona’s talents and dedication to her church.

Our service this Sunday 31st May will be led, once again, by Rev Elisabeth B Spence. We will be celebrating the service given to our congregation by Fiona Salkeld who has been our organist for many years and who has now decided, reluctantly, to retire. Following the service, a lunch will be served and we hope that many people will be able to attend.
