are you looking for a summer of fun filled activities to do as a family? Then we have just the thing for you!

Over the summer holidays The Whiteinch Centre will be hosting weekly activities for families.

To sign-up drop into The Centre on Monday 1st or Tuesday 2nd June. Please note that sign-ups must be done in person and these are family activities -meaning that children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

🚧ROADWORKS🚧

Roadworks to install new traffic lights and remodel the junction at Great Western Road / Cowdenhill Road / Lincoln Avenue Junction to begin 1st June.

Work is expected to take 8 weeks

During these works you can expect various lane closures and access restrictions which will change as the works progress.

Its your last chance to have your say on our application to have a Fireworks Control Zone covering the Knighstwood Community Council area.

The closing date for the consultation is Tuesday May 19th

The area covered is the Knightswood Community Council Area.
From Knightswood Road to the east to D**e Road, Great Western Road then the canal to the north and the southern limit Is Anniesland Road and then the railway line as it passes The shopping centre.

The proposed zones are:

North Glasgow - Knightswood, Temple/Ilay, Glasgow Harbour Terrace, Ashlar Village, Firhill Basin, Garnethill, Carntyne/Riddrie, Shettleston, Mount Vernon, Broomhouse and Bishop Loch.

South Glasgow – Shawlands, Strathbungo, Govanhill, Pollokshields, Shawlands Academy, Braidcraft/Damshot, SSPCA Pollok, Langhaul/Bullwood, Leverndale.

Proposed zones can be subject to adjustment or consolidation with neighbouring or overlapping areas during the development of firework control zones.

🚧Roadworks🚧

Lincoln Ave will be closed from Tuesday 5/5 till Friday 8/5 between Archerhill Rd and Moat Ave for resurfacing.

Bus services (First Bus 3) will be diverted via Archerhill Road and Great Western Rd in both directions.

After many community requests we submitted an application for a Fireworks Control Zone to be implemented in Knightswood, covering the Community Council Area ( Knightswood Rd to D**e Rd, Great Western Road to Anniesland Road)

In order for this to be successful we need as many residents as possible to support this in the Glasgow City Council consultation.
