Girvan & District Attractions is a community led non-profit making charity run by local volunteers for the community, general public and tourist alike, providing community events free and inclusive to all in the Carrick Area since 1973 and a registered charity since 2019

We run events such as the Carrick Lowland Gathering & Pipe Band Championships & Highland Dancers & Highland Heavy Weight Compet

ition, Civic Week, Ghost Stories, Carrick Community Firework Display, Civic Parade, Pet Show, Treasure Hunt, Senior Citizens Party, A number of Sports Competitions, Crowning of local King & Queen, Visits to Care homes and the Hospital , Opening of Stumpy Tower for School Historical educational visits, Tourists and local community groups. Our meetings are held in the Age Concern Hall (Duff St Kitchen) on the second Tuesday of every month at 7.00pm

43rd Carrick Lowland Gathering
Sunday 7th June 2026

Chieftain – Provost Ian Campbell

Remember you can purchase a wrist band at £10 each which covers all inflatables and rides for the whole day which opens at 11:00.

We also have twenty eight local charities and organsations booked in to promote their activities and raise funds for themselves

We have a variety or trade stalls and crafts and a selection of food and drinks vans coming along with a beer tent for the adults.

Remember we are a highland games not a gala, so we have a variety of competitions

Girvan Youth Football Tournament - Walking Football Competition - 09:30
Highland Dancing - 10:00
Fun Fair Opens - 11:00
Juvenile Solo Piping - 12:00
Official opening by the Chieftan 12:45
Heavy Weights - 13:00
Pipebands - 13:30 (Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway Branch of RSPBA)
Girvan Harriers - Saughhill Race - 14:00
Pipe Band march past and presentation of prizes - 16:30

The Isle of Cumbrae Pipeband will be marching from The Flushes Carpark to Victory Park at 12:00

We have six pipe bands coming along on Sunday. That’s the most for a good few years. They are:

1. Dean Castle Pipes and Drums
2. Troon Blackrock
3. 1st Troon Boys Brigade
4. Paisley & District
5. Irvine & District
6. Williamwood
