South Ayrshire Ranger Service are offering a FREE training event with South West Scotland Environmental Information Centre on insects and citizen science.

It will take place on Monday 29th June from 10am to 1pm at Riverside Sports Arena, University Avenue, Ayr, KA8 0SZ.

From toe‑tapping tunes to singalongs and sessions, it’s a weekend that celebrates roots and the talent that keeps folk traditions thriving. We look forwards to more of this next year and for many years to come!

🎨🖌 Carraig Creatives is a fresh new collective bringing together some of Carrick's makers, artists, and imaginative do‑ers under one welcoming banner.

They are promoting emerging artists and makers, and helping creativity flourish across Girvan and the wider area.

Carraig Creatives enjoyed a hugely successful launch at Wilson's Mini Mall during the Girvan Arts Festival this year in May, and are looking forward to future exhibitions showcasing all kinds of fabulous creative works!

If you think the Community Garden only comes alive in summer, think again! Throughout all of 2026, this little green heart of Girvan is buzzing with activity, creativity, learning and community spirit. There’s always something happening — and everyone’s welcome.

Girvan Brass is a newly formed, community‑based brass ensemble in South Ayrshire, created to give local musicians a friendly, low‑pressure place to play together.

The group is small, informal, and still developing its identity — but it has already become a welcome addition to Girvan’s cultural scene and long tradition of community music.

🎨✨ What an incredible Girvan Arts Festival we had this year!!

The town was absolutely buzzing as artists, makers, performers and visitors filled Girvan with colour, creativity and community spirit. From inspiring exhibitions and open studios to hands‑on workshops, live music, storytelling and family activities, the festival turned every corner into a celebration of local talent.

It was a brilliant showcase of what Girvan can do when creativity takes centre stage — and the support from residents, visitors and volunteers made it something truly special.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, attended, shared, created, performed, organised or helped behind the scenes.
