History looks better in black & white.

There’s something about the stark lines of Dalquharran Castle that only B&W photography can capture. The ruin doesn't just look old. It looks timeless.

Stripped of colour, you’re left with the pure architecture: the symmetry of the Adam mansion, the haunting empty windows, and the way the stone seems to absorb the Scottish sky.

It reminds us that while the functions of these buildings fade, the elegance of their design remains.

Dalquharran is more than just a ruin in Dailly. It’s a study in shadow and light.

Roots and Branches: A New Community Textile Project Inspired by the Girvan Millennium Quilt
Girvan's Story and local artist Winifred Wright have come together to deliver Roots and Branches, an exciting new community textile project celebrating community, sustainability and heritage.
Inspired by the Girvan Millennium Quilt, the project will explore how the town has changed over the past 25 years while highlighting the strong community connections that continue to shape Girvan and inspire its future aspirations.
Are you part of a local community group or business and interested in getting involved? Or perhaps you're feeling creative and would like to help? Come along to one of our drop-in sessions to learn more about the project and sign up to take part.
Sessions will run from 11.00am to 3.00pm on the following dates:

☕ Aff the Rails kiosk at Girvan Train Station

Applicants must have previous customer service experience and enjoy working with the public.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, support your local community and help Girvan Youth Trust continue creating opportunities for young people.

THIS WEEK @ The Wee School Art Space

This Wednesday is the final chance to join in with the Community Weaving Project, alongside textile artist Gemma Sangwine, so if you have been thinking about coming along make sure you do! 10am - 2pm Wednesday.

This is also the final week of The Carrick Open Arts Exhibition - featuring the work of 19 local artists working in a whole range of mediums.
The exhibition will be open;
Weekdays 10am - 4pm
Weekend 11am - 4pm

It really is a wee cracker of an exhibition and is not to be missed!

Thanks to years of research by author and social historian Frances Wilkins, the fascinating true stories of the smugglers, local characters, and customs officers who tried, and often failed, to stop them are being brought to life once again.
