Seven years of building MK Pride. And this year hit differently!
There were moments throughout the day when I could look around Campbell Park and really take in just how far this has come.
And honestly, this year exceeded even our own expectations.
The growth of MK Pride has been incredible, not just in the size of the festival, but in what it represents for Milton Keynes and the place Pride now holds within the cultural life of our city.
And then there was Tulisa.
Seeing her walk onto that stage in front of thousands of people at Campbell Park was one of those moments that makes all the work behind MK Pride feel very real.
Thank you, Tulisa, for being part of it, and to every artist, performer and host who made the day what it was.
But a festival of this scale takes a huge collective effort.
Our volunteer team. Our contractors and suppliers. Our community organisations. Our sponsors and partners. The transport teams, security, production, traders, caterers, site crews and everyone else who played their part.
Our core team is small. The ambition certainly isn’t.
The continued support of our sponsors and partners, from those who have stood alongside us for years to the new organisations joining us this year, is allowing us to keep growing, keep investing and keep thinking bigger.
Standing at the side of that stage, looking out across Campbell Park and seeing our community there, you realise exactly what all of this work has created.
MK Pride is growing.
And we’re only getting started. 🌈
