💚 It is National Wellness Month!

Wellness is more than caring for our bodies; it's also protecting our peace, honoring our worth, and creating space for healing.

Throughout her life, Dr. Maya Angelou taught that one of the greatest acts of self-care is maintaining a place within yourself where no one has permission to diminish your value. It is a sanctuary built on self-respect, courage, and the confidence to say, "Stop it."

She also reminded us that wellness is a daily practice. Choosing gratitude even in difficult moments, finding joy in simply being alive, and nurturing our minds and spirits with the same care we give our bodies.

This National Wellness Month, may we remember that protecting our inner peace isn't selfish. It's essential.

Good news for our community! WEWN has received a £500 grant from the Hadrian Trust to support our work empowering women and families across Gateshead, South Tyneside and the wider North East. This funding will help us continue culturally responsive programmes in wellbeing, mental health, employability, skills development, advocacy and leadership for women from minority, migrant, refugee and underserved communities.
