Carers Trust Tyne and Wear Carers Trust Tyne & Wear is an independent local charity supporting carers from age 5 up. We provide two key services.

Our Care Service provides relief care that enables unpaid carers to take a regular break. We take over almost any aspect of their care role so that they can spend time with others, enjoy their own interests, have family time, get tasks like shopping done or simply rest. Unlike typical domiciliary care, our services are built around the break needs of the carer themselves and independent research h

as demonstrated that we are a key protective factor in their health, wellbeing and quality of life. Our Young Carer Service provides skills, wellbeing and personal development programmes; emotional support; social opportunities; education support; statutory Young Carer Needs Assessments; and individual grants to children and young people age 5-17 who care for a family member. It is a constantly evolving service that works with young carers to understand their needs and how we can best support them.
