Sunday 11th October – Autumn Bird Walk, 10:00-12:00 - Join ornithologist Michael Turner for a leisurely bird walk through the park and discover how the birds are preparing for the changing season ahead. All-year residents are busy feeding to build up reserves for winter, while summer visitors gather before embarking on their migrations south. Finches and t**s are roaming the trees in search of seeds and insects and birds that hatched this year are learning vital survival skills. If we are lucky we may also spot the first winter arrivals beginning to appear. We meet at 10 am at the lakeside, near the Model Boat Club hut. Our bird walks generally last for about two hours and cover different parts of the park. Michael’s walks are always popular and pre-booking is recommended.
