Learn more about Gairloch Community First Responders!
All this week we'll be posting answers to FAQ about us. Today's question: what do Community First Responders do? π€
A Community First Responder is a volunteer member of the Scottish Ambulance Service who can be dispatched (by the Ambulance Service) to local medical emergencies. The types of emergencies you might encounter a Community First Responder include: cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, stroke, seizures, chest pain, diabetic emergencies, medical collapse and unconsciousness. By dispatching local Responders to these emergencies, we can ensure patients receive care as quickly as possible, and are fully supported while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
