Once again, Frome Town Rotary ( together with Frome Rotary club) had a lot of fun judging this years Dragons Den competition at Frome College. All the DT students worked really hard, making the final decision difficult. But, there can only be one winner, or in this case two, congratulations to Rebbecca and Oleksandra. Well done to everyone who took part.

Jazz show celebrates Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga

A new jazz theatre production celebrating Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga is coming to Frome this month.

The show will take place at the Frome Memorial Theatre on Saturday 18th April, blending live jazz performance with theatrical storytelling, following a sold-out performance in Berkshire.

It revisits classic songs made famous through Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s acclaimed collaborations, which introduced a new generation of listeners to the emotional power of the Great American Songbook.

The show holds particular significance, as the tour marks what would have been Tony Bennett’s 100th birthday, offering audiences a heartfelt tribute to one of the most influential vocalists in music history.

Vocalists Andrew Bourn and Hannah White said, “Following our sold-out show, we are thrilled to bring this celebration to Frome and share it with audiences who appreciate jazz, theatre, and classic songwriting.”

Celebrating the incredible Rotary Club of Frome!
Since 2021, the brilliant volunteers behind the Rotary in Frome’s pop up charity shop (operated by the 3 Rotary Clubs and Inner Wheel in Frome) have achieved something extraordinary - together they’ve raised a staggering £500,000 for local good causes. That’s half a million pounds invested directly back into our community, supporting the people, charities and projects that make Frome such a special place.
Over the past four weekends alone, the Rotary Club of Frome have opened their shop and raised an incredible £8,000 for We Hear You (WHY). At a time when we’re running an emergency appeal to protect our free counselling services for children, families and adults affected by cancer and other life threatening conditions, this support couldn’t mean more.
Today, Frome Rotary are also out in the town centre supporting the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal, reminding us how powerful local action can be when we stand together. We still have three vital weeks left of our appeal, and every donation, every purchase and every share helps us get closer to our fundraising target.
If you’re passing through town, please pop in, grab a bargain or simply stop by to say thank you to the volunteers who make all this possible.
Frome – you’re making a real difference. Let’s keep this momentum going.
