We’re soooo excited to be hosting another Nature Safari with the amazing Nick Patel from 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥

Nick’s passion for nature is contagious and his knowledge of the natural world is immense, so if you’d like to learn from the man himself - join us!

We’ll walk through Vallis Vale, a stunning river valley just on the outskirts of Frome, and learn about the fauna and flora that reside there. Expect a slow-paced walk filled with nature facts and - hopefully - plenty of sightings! 🐦‍⬛🐜🦇🦋🐌🦗🪳

Have you ever foraged for berries in the light of the full harvest moon? 🌒 We haven’t either, but we’d say it’s a pretty magical experience, especially when shared with other women ✨

At our latest session, we picked sloes, haw berries and rose hips to turn them into delicious items that are great for our health and our bellies. We’d also tried some of the produce from those wild foods to further inspire our foraging escapades. Thank you to all of you who came to our session and turned it into such a magical and wholesome evening. We hope you’ll enjoy your concoctions!

We can’t believe that this is the last cohort of our market gardening programme 😳 The group is now in a ful flow and it’s so great to be joined by people who are curious, driven and passionate about food and nature.

Last week we focussed on seeds. We spend the day harvesting tomatoes, sorting wildflower seeds and sowing for the winter crops, all whilst chatting about seed sovereignty and the global picture 🌱🪏

We look forward to the next few weeks as we explore other aspects of being a food grower and we can’t wait to share that knowledge with our students 👩🏻‍🌾 🪏 🍎

Fancy a day of playing in the woods, cooking on a fire, making friends and apple pressing? If so, join us next Saturday for our last-of-this-season community event.

Bring your kids, friends and family and join us around the fire. Our friends at Shared Earth Learning Forest School are hosting their open day that Saturday, so you can chat to them too about all the amazing things they do in the community.

We have accessible tickets available, so if cost is an issue, let us know. And bring a bottle or two, so you can take some of that delicious apple juice home 😋

We’re a little bit overdue with sharing these photos from our ‘Food, Folk and Fire’ event we ran in July, but it’s never too late to remind ourselves what a lovely gathering that was!

We harvested food from the land and, together, chopped, grated, squeezed, sliced, whizzed the produce to make a delicious two-course meal. This ultra-local, organic and seasonal feast was a reminder of how much we depend on the land to sustain and nourish us 🫛🥬🧄

If you’ve missed on this event, don’t worry. We have another one coming up on Saturday, 3rd October, so join us then for another gorgeous meal and an opportunity to connect with others. We’ll be pressing apples then too, so bring a bottle or two to take it home 🍎 🍏 🍎
