We held our very first The Caring Cup Hawkinge House Care Home - Hartford Care yesterday as part of Carers Week, and it was honestly such a lovely, relaxed afternoon. We had a great little turnout, and it was brilliant to see some new faces there too.
Jack from Hawkin's House joined us and was the absolute perfect host, telling us all about the fantastic work they do. I’m just so incredibly happy wi this is coming together—our new Caring Cup is going to be great.
We’re going to be back there on Friday, June 26th at 10:30 AM and we'd love it if you could join us!

Political momentum is building around unpaid carers — and our research is at the centre of it.

Sir Ed Davey, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, has welcomed A Lifeline. Not a Luxury and made a clear commitment to unpaid carers across the UK.

"Unpaid carers are truly remarkable. Day in, day out, they selflessly dedicate their lives to care for their loved ones. From arranging appointments to managing complex medication, caring can be challenging. Yet, unpaid carers do it all out of love for their friend or family member.

They are the unsung heroes of our social care system. Without them our NHS and our communities simply would not function.

So I welcome this report from Carefree. Ensuring carers have access to respite should be the norm, not a luxury. We will not rest until this is funded and written into law. Only when unpaid carers are given the time and support to look after themselves, can they continue caring for their loved ones."

— Sir Ed Davey, Leader of the Liberal Democrats

New Just Economics research backs this commitment with hard numbers. £294 saved per break. £2,617 in social value every single time. A solution that already exists and simply needs to scale.
