We have places available at a Georgian meal that will be served at Simplicity Restaurant (SE16). Three courses of delicious Georgian food that will be accompanied by live polyphonic singers. The meal will also follow the Georgian tradition of having a "Tamada" (toastmaster) who will lead some toasts during the meal. It is also an opportunity to learn more about travelling to Georgia.

Who are 45+ Not Grumpy?

This is a group for those of us who accept who we are and like who we are, we are comfortable to do things alone however would prefer to share some of our leisure time with like-minded people.

We are interesting and interested in so much! From walking in the countryside, travel, week-end breaks, playing cards, theatre, opera, dining, visiting galleries, exhibitions, playing tennis perhaps, book club, art and much much more!

Don’t forget to follow our social media accounts for updates on upcoming trips, days out and pictures from recent adventures.

Tour guide Barrie Greene a brand new walk for 2026. One of London's most exclusive areas coupled with one of London's most exquisite parks . On this tour we walk the back streets of Holland Park and see many delightful houses and many blue plaques to talk about. We meet a sixties singing icon and a house that is almost out of this world. Then we finish with a stroll inside Holland Park itself with It's Japanese garden and open air opera house. A great London afternoon in store.

MILE END… expect the unexpected!

The original idea was to walk from Mile End to Whitechapel but Barrie was still in Mile End after four hours of checking things out so it became obvious this is a gem of a walk on its own.

We start at the one of the magnificent seven that people always forget about....I'll tell you when we are there! We go on to a station with some unique features, catch up the father of a TV star from Hollywood, then visit the site of an infamous night club.

SOHO - Roots of the swinging sixties
The music, the clubs and the fashion

Your guide, Barrie was a teenager in the early 1960’s - a true post-war baby boomer! Growing up in London during that period was incredibly exciting and he has an infectious passion for this era & time. He remembers those days as if they were yesterday...

A walk around Waterloo, how could that be interesting? I mean there’s the station obviously and a world famous theatre, then theres one of Londons great old markets and a unique cinema that was way ahead of its time.
Still not interested ? how about the few streets that have become a conservation area as well as the site of a piece of circus history

Well thats all we’re giving away at the moment but rest assured theres so much history around Waterloo it will be a most unexpected and fascinating tour.
