Our Flamborough WI Bric a Brac Sale is taking place this weekend as part of the Flamborough Village Garage Sale Event.

Flamborough WI are delighted to be taking part in the Flamborough Village Garage Sale Event with our Bric a Brac Sale at Flamborough WI Hall.

Let's enjoy the sunshine but stay safe and look out for those who may struggle to keep themselves cool and hydrated during the hot weather.

Check-in with older relatives and neighbours, especially those with underlying health conditions, or who live alone.

Simple actions like staying hydrated, avoiding the sun during the hottest part of the day (between 11am and 3pm), and knowing how to keep your home cool can make a big difference:

• close windows and blinds/curtains in rooms that are facing the sun, open them at night or first thing in the morning when the temperature outside has gone down – remember it may be cooler outdoors in the shade than indoors
• wear light and loose clothing, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses – apply sunscreen liberally and frequently. Use one with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30, and 4 or 5 star ultraviolet A (UVA) protection
• drink plenty of fluids, avoid excess alcohol and take water with you if you are travelling
• never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially infants, young children or animals
• check medicines can be stored according to the instructions on the packaging
• check that fridges, freezers and fans are working properly
• Stick to physical activity during the coolest times of the day, such as early morning or in the evening.

Flamborough WI are looking for stall holders for our upcoming Bric a Brac Sale on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June at Flamborough WI Hall.

🛍️ Sell your unwanted items, collectibles, ornaments such as figurines, vases, ceramics and trinkets, small household items and much more.
*No electrical items unless already PAT tested by our electrician*

💷 Table prices:
• £5 for your first table per day
• £3 for each additional table per day

You can book for one day or both days.

Bring your knitting, crochet, sewing, painting or any craft project you’re working on. Or simply come along for a cuppa, a biscuit and a friendly chat.

A sociable afternoon of cards, laughter and good company. New players are always welcome and we’ll happily help you learn.
