North Ferriby over 50 's match report
North Ferriby 1 Blackburn Welfare 4
Sunday 1st December
Despite losing 4-1 in a keenly contested local derby, North Ferriby's continuous improvement curve continues its upwards trend, with another improved display in the first home game of the season.
Had it not been for a couple of errors and a spate of injuries to players, this game could have probably had a different outcome,
For the first 20-30 mins, both teams played some good entertaining stuff, but effectively were cancelling each other out, and clear-cut chances were at a premium.
However, an uncharacteristic mistake from the Ferriby keeper gifted Blackburn Welfare the opening goal, and in rapid succession a second was added after some neat passing, Ferriby not closing down properly, and a as cool as you like finish.
Ferriby dug deep and created a few chances of their own and just before half time, on as a sub, leading and only goal scorer of the league campaign so far , Lowe, pulled one back for Ferriby.

The second half started with much the same vigour as the the first half, hovwever, injuries like buses on Holderness Road on a Sunday blighted Ferriby in the opening 20 minutes of the second period, a spate of 4 back to back match ending injuries sustained by the Ferriby, resulted in a subsitute goalie, and players playing out of position, this meant Ferriby's task became a lot harder as they chased the game.
Indeed, as the game wore on, Blackburn took full advantage of the situation that had beset the older weary villagers and added a further 2 goals in the closing stages.
