🎒 SOUTH DOWNS BACKPACKING & NAVIGATION ADVENTURE 🧭

Ready to swap the day-to-day for a few days on the trail?

Join us for a proper backpacking and navigation adventure in the South Downs, where you'll carry your kit, navigate your way along the route and experience the landscape at walking pace.

This is about getting out there and putting your outdoor skills into practice. We'll spend our days walking through the rolling chalk hills and open countryside of the South Downs, using maps and navigation techniques to find our way rather than simply following a marked route.

There’s something very satisfying about carrying everything you need on your back, knowing where you are, working out where you need to go next, and settling down at the end of the day with the miles behind you.

Expect beautiful views, practical navigation, a few challenges, plenty of laughs and the camaraderie that comes from sharing an adventure on foot.

🎒 Carry your kit. Find your way. Walk the South Downs.

If you've been thinking about trying backpacking or want to improve your navigation skills in a real walking environment, this could be the adventure for you.

Over the last few days we held our Outdoor 2-day first Aid course led by Boots On Adventures walk leader Max Cornall.

Yes it was about learning, but also spending valuable time outdoors together

We spent 2 days in Jays Wood boughton-Under-Blean gaining or renewing our qualification.

We even spent the night in the woods (most of us in the Boots On Adventures hammocks) eating a delicious home cooked chilli in the evening cooked by Boots On Adventures very own Ian.

We felt this was so successful we will be leading several more in 2027.

🌊 Margate to Broadstairs – Kent’s Iconic Coastal Walk 🥾

Fancy a proper day by the sea? Join us for a fantastic coastal walk from Margate to Broadstairs, following one of the most beautiful and recognisable stretches of the Kent coastline.

We'll leave Margate behind and follow the coast towards Broadstairs, taking in sandy beaches, chalk cliffs, sea views and some of Thanet's most memorable coastal scenery. Botany Bay is one of the highlights, with its dramatic white cliffs and distinctive sea stacks creating an impressive backdrop.

There’s plenty of history along the way too. Broadstairs has strong connections with Charles Dickens, who regularly visited the town and spent summers here. The coastline itself has also played an important role in Thanet's maritime history, with the sea shaping both the landscape and the communities that grew along it.

It's a walk with a bit of everything – beautiful views, fresh sea air, seaside history and good company. A great chance to explore this iconic section of the Kent coast on foot.

🥾 Come and walk the Kent coast with us!

This was Rachel's last walk with Boots On Adventures for some time. We are so proud of her as she heads off to start a degree and follow her career.

For her last walk she headed out with the Boots On Adventures family around Rochester, a city full of history wonder and amazing hidden footpaths.
