WASHINGTON THEATRE GROUP is an amateur dramatics group from Washington in the north east of England which has been running since 1976. It has attracted many members over that time (TO JOIN MEMBERS MUST BE 18+ YEARS OF AGE) and performed a number of shows throughout the years. The WTG isnt just about performing on stage, its all about working as a team and having a chance to try new things. We all

pitch in and we all do our best to put on a great show, not just for our selves but for the audience, the community and for charity.

🎭 A HUGE THANK YOU AND WHAT’S NEXT! 🎭

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who joined us for our annual Pantomime, "Beauty and the Beast"! We had an absolute blast performing for you at Arts Centre Washington, and your incredible energy made the run truly special. 🌟

But there’s no rest for the wicked... or the weary!

We are thrilled to announce that Washington Theatre Group is heading to the 2026 Durham and Sunderland One Act Festival! 🏆

We will be performing: "The Repair Shop" on Wednesday 4th March 7:30 PM at The Royalty Theatre, Sunderland (SR2 7PP)

This is an official preliminary round of the All England Theatre Festival (AETF). We'll be sharing the opening night with the Progressive Players, followed by a live public adjudication by professional adjudicator Dave Bennett. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see a different side of our group’s talent and support local amateur drama!
