1st March 2025 ... 2 years since Veterans Central started work on West Raynham SHQ (we had done some work in the previous few months but 1st March was our official start). It was great therefore to have the sun shining on the building and no cars when I arrived at 0845 ... the team has now completed around 23,000 hours of work on the building and gardens; a massive thanks from the Trustees to:
Volunteers for awesome enthusiasm and work effort; we are 5 to 6 months ahead of the plan thanks to the number of volunteers their dedication to getting stuff done! One example today (shown below) was the new lighting in the Canberra Heritage Trust room - makes a big difference.
Our sponsors and supporters for donations of materials, sponsoring of veterans events, and much more. A good example today (see below) was a stack of perspex sheets that we will use to cover in the various model displays.
Our veterans for continually showing us what a difference Veterans Central is making to them.
Our visitors for coming to see the work being done, enthusing about SHQ and what is being achieved - and helping by putting money in the donations box!
