I don't know about you, but I find it hard to get through a whole watermelon before it goes off, as it's just me and my daughter, and I get a bit bored of just eating slices. Here are some of the dishes I make to get through it quickly, so it doesn't go to waste.

We have an exciting role for someone who believes in the value of food education for children. Nourishing Dartmoor, our joint project with Wellmoor (funded by Devon Community Foundation) is in its second year and an important part of the project is supporting Moretonhampstead Primary School and Preschool with food education and cookery. If you think you may have the recipe (sorry!) for success, please get in touch!

Just a reminder that St Thomas Food Hub is closed for August, so our volunteers and I can have a rest. We are looking for more lunch club volunteers in September. We need people who can commit to volunteering on a weekly basis from about 10am-2pm, so that we can keep running the lunch every Thursday. If you are interested please get in touch.

Thanks very much to element.aga for running another great Cook & Chat session today. She made sauerkraut and pierogi. We are having a break from all activities in August so the next session will be the 4th Wednesday in September, hopefully with Bridgette as guest chef. You can book via Eventbrite - see link in bio.

We still have a few places left for our Cook & Chat session next Wednesday 22 July with .aga who will be making sauerkraut and pierogi. We also have a Walk & Cook foraging session on Friday 24 July with . Please book via Eventbrite for both events https://love-food-cic.eventbrite.com Next week 23 July will be our last lunch club before our summer holidays, but the hub will be open until 28 July.
After that we are closed for August, so our volunteers can have a well earned rest. We are looking for more regular, weekly volunteers to start in September.
