As my time at EX5 Alive has come to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared and everything we’ve achieved together.
Due to funding not being secured, the EX5 Alive Community Hub has now closed, and with that, my role as Community Hub Event Coordinator has also come to an end. While I’m saddened by this I remain incredibly proud of what we created together over the past year.
During my time at EX5 Alive, I had the privilege of organising and supporting a wide range of activities and events that brought people together and created safe, welcoming spaces for all ages. Some of our regular weekly clubs included:
Coffee & Cake Night
LEGO Club
Men’s Darts Club
Arts & Crafts Club
Age UK Chatty Café
We also delivered a vibrant calendar of community events, such as:
January Fun Day
Easter Crafts & LEGO Sessions
Easter Fun Day
Halloween Event
Colour Run Summer Fête
Community Water Fight
Old-Fashioned Sports Day
Summer Fun Day
LEGO and Craft Sessions
0–3’s Soft Play & Sensory Sessions
A treasured part of my role was supporting the dedicated volunteers at the EX5 Alive Food Hub. Their compassion and commitment have been truly inspiring. I’m grateful to share that the Food Hub will continue to operate, with Exeter Foodbank at the Cranbrook Education Campus ensuring that this vital support remains available to those who need it most. ❤️
The creation of EX5 Alive CIC showed what’s possible when people come together with heart, purpose, and a shared love for their community. Although the Community Hub has closed, I remain hopeful that the organisation will find the support it needs to continue offering valuable projects in the future.
As I step away from this role, I want to reassure you that I will still be very active within our community.
As the founder of Annie’s Stay and Play CIC, I’m excited to continue growing our sessions and creating more opportunities for connection, play, and support for families across the area we will continue to use the space at Cranbrook Education Campus.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and been part of this journey. Your kindness, encouragement, and community spirit have meant the world. 🤗
I will always carry the memories and lessons from this role with me — and I will continue cheering on the Cranbrook community every step of the way. 📣
I will no longer have access to this social media platform so if you would like to stay in touch pop on over to Annies Stay and Play CIC and give me a follow.
Warm regards
Leigh-Anne Kendall (Annie)
