The Wick - Eton Wick Youth Club

The Wick - Eton Wick Youth Club We welcome young people aged 8-14, and are staffed by an experienced team of DBS checked volunteers Currently, children aged 8+ years can attend the Club.

Eton Wick Youth Club is back with a new management committee committed to running the club and giving the children of the Eton and Eton Wick area a safe place to socialise and learn new skills. Based on the ground floor of Eton Wick Village Hall, it is staffed by qualified Youth Workers and managed by a team of volunteers. Although we are an independent youth club, we are supported by Berkshire Yo

uth and Eton Town Council. Children pay a small weekly subscription which goes towards the running of the club. Activities are varied depending on the time of year. Eton Wick Youth Club runs entirely on external funding grants/awards, donations and fundraising by the children and staff and welcomes the opportunity to work with other local groups and charities. Any derogatory comments, accusations or illicit pictures will be removed immediately from the Eton Wick Youth Club page and may be reported to Facebook. This site is monitored daily and we have a zero tolerance to bullying in any form by adult or child.

We hoped to capture all the amazing biscuit creations tonight but some were eaten before we had a chance to take a pic !

We have a full schedule of festive crafts over the next couple of weeks, plus the usual sports hall activities, multi-user games console fun, and the opportunity to spend relaxed social time with friends outside of school.

We also enjoyed an off-duty visit from Cllr Linda Tarbox, Mayor of Eton Wick and Eton, who has promised to visit again soon.

Guy stopped at the library on his way to the Greyhound where he was handed over to the intrepid Eton Wick Fireworks team in preparation for his leading role tonight.

Our members created him as a Youth Club activity in late October and isn't he a handsome fella !

Youth Club members will be joining volunteers from other village groups to raise money to support Eton Wick Library at the Fireworks tonight. Please bring cash and dig deep as we all want to continue to enjoy having the library in our village.

Eton Wick Youth Club needs your help !

Are you a young person building your CV for university, college, or first job and need volunteering experience ? Are you working towards your Duke of Edinburgh Award, or a qualification in child care ? For all of these, and more, volunteering with The Wick would be a great opportunity to support your local community whilst getting much needed volunteering experience.

The Wick has a very small core group of volunteers and even if you could only spare one evening a month this will help them greatly and enable a wider range of supervised activities. Can you spare a couple of hours on a Monday evening during term time to volunteer?

Please contact Helen on 07764 821130 or email [email protected] or message on FB, thanks.
