We are a Thamesmead charity (1154714) run by local volunteers for the benefit of our local community and surrounding areas. We were formed in 2009 in partnership with Gallions Housing Association. Our aim is to provide affordable furniture for low income families in the south east area. We became a stand-alone group in 2011, moving to our current premises in the same year from our humble beginning
s at Tavy Bridge. We were awarded charity status in 2013 and have worked hard to grow our charity to benefit our local residents. All our furniture is donated to us to pass onto those who have need of it, we try and keep the prices as low as possible but we have to cover our costs. All of our staff are volunteers, who give their time and efforts for the community and we are always pleased to welcome new volunteers to TFR. So if you would like to volunteer come and talk to us, we have a variety of roles available. Our future plans include relocation to bigger premises to allow for permanent residency and allow for further expansion of the charity. We are also hoping to purchase a bigger and newer vehicle. We would also like to open a charity shop in the local area selling smaller items as well as furniture.
