Looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community?

The RAF Air Cadets are looking for adult volunteers to help inspire and support young people aged 12–20. You don’t need any military experience – just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.

As a volunteer you could help with activities such as flying, adventure training, sports, fieldcraft, and community events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, meet great people, and make a real difference in young people’s lives.

If you are a veteran in the Cheshunt area you definitely need to check out the veterans breakfast that happens at the Cheshunt RBL club. It is open to all serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces and takes place on the first Saturday of each month.

You’ll be welcomed with open arms by Chris and Mary who will be tempting you offers of a bacon or sausage roll plus lots of tea and coffee! The atmosphere is friendly and informal and is well worth a visit.

Happy 90th Birthday, Brendan!

Today we celebrate the 90th birthday of our former Branch Chairman Brendan Farrell, Brendan is an RAF veteran and has been a member of the Royal British Legion for more years than he would care to remember. Today we salute you and want to thank you for your service both to your country and your community.

Brendan we hope you have a very lovely day with family and friends.

Everyone at Enfield RBL wanted to wish Don Howkins a very happy birthday, Don is 105 years old today. Happy birthday Don!!!

Don served in the Royal Artillery, 90th (MIddlesex) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment and was involved in the preparation of vehicles and weapons for the D-Day landings in June of 1944.

Don, we salute you on this amazing birthday milestone and hope you have an fantastic day.

Happy birthday to Don Howkins, who turned 105 today! 👏🎉

Don served with distinction in the Royal Artillery, 90th (Middlesex) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, and deployed to Normandy in June 1944. In the lead-up to D-Day, he was stationed at Weybridge, preparing weapons and vehicles for the landings—vital work ahead of one of history’s defining military operations.

We thank Don for his service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy 🇬🇧

It was an absolute honour to help everyone at Bullsmoor Lodge celebrate their Veteran Friendly Framework Affiliation.

This is a fantastic achievement that has come from the hard work of the Veterans Friendly champions Sandy and Lisa, they should be very proud of the difference this will make to their Ex Armed Service members.

We chatted and shared refreshments with the residents, relatives and staff and also enjoyed an old time singalong brilliantly done by David Short.

A lovely afternoon was had by all the RBL members who attended and we look forward visiting again in the future.

Thank you to all the members who attended tonights AGM, it was great to see both familiar and new faces.

Particular thanks goes to those who were elected or re-elected to positions on the committee.
