Predator fishing Reminder

Dead baiting and live baiting on Beet waters is not permitted until November.

A member found two anglers dead baiting on Roswell today, the member witnessed one of the anglers landing a Zander, it took twenty minutes for the angler to revive the Zander which is totally unacceptable.

If any member sees another member predator fishing please have a word with the angler and send me a message asap.

Many thanks.

Keepnets.

With the forecast of high temperatures the use of keepnets are not permitted on Roswell pit.

If you plan to use a keepnet on the River Ouse your keepnet must be a minimum length of 4mtrs. Please do not use a keepnet on Foremill Wash if you fish the pegs that have shallow water in close.

Many thanks.

Parking.

All members please do not park on the two pump house station land.

We have received a complaint from the Internal drainage board who operate and maintain Padnal No1 and No2 pumping stations, which are situated between Queen Adelaide and Littleport.

On the first day of the river season a white transit style van partially blocked access to the pumping station which access is required 24/7.

We know parking along the Ouse is very restricted, however there is very little that the club can do to improve this.

The committee will look into producing a map that shows areas that are accessible but are not that clear.

Thank you.

Roswell Pit.

Today I received numerous photographs from around the Loop Line section of the pit, the out of bounds area and the private land between the pit and the railway line. The photographs show where some low life/low lifes have been using the area as a toilet. If you can not take care/dispose of your own waste you are not welcome on our waters. If we find the culprit/culprits they will receive a life time ban and their names will be shared with other local clubs.

We will be installing wildlife cameras around the pit as sadly this has also happened in other areas. This is an added cost which the angling section will have to fund, so expect your membership fees to increase next year to cover the unnecessary additional costs !!

If this disgusting habit continues, we will look into either night anglers having to book on 48hrs prior to fishing or we will just ban night fishing altogether!!

If anyone has any information about the culprits please contact me.
Ely Beet Angling Committee.

This is just one area!

All members please report if you see this vehicle. The so-called angler has been issued a lifetime ban by another local club. It's not someone we want on our waters.

Thank you.
