Elstow Playing Field Hall has been a major part of the village for many years providing space for Table Tennis and Bowls Club sessions and a refreshment area for cricket and football clubs. As well as many wedding receptions, birthday parties and wakes. Most recently having a Parent and Baby group started by a committee member.
As a small registered charity(charity no 300028) run by 11 trustees, on a voluntary basis, all running costs are raised by fundraising throughout the year and over the last 2 years we have grown the events with quiz nights, Clairvoyant evenings and Christmas Fayre.
Unfortunately, in August 2024 whilst improvements to refreshment area were being made to create a small hall and second room available, the builders discovered a severe fault with the roof of the original hall and for safety reasons we had to close with immediate effect.
We are having to raise the funds ourselves for the repairs which are estimated to be approx £180,000.
Launching this go fund me page is the first step to a massive goal and we will be doing various events over the next few months to help the cause.
We hope you can support us as this would be a huge loss to the community if we were unable to secure funding to do the repairs.
