This month’s meeting is a speaker from the Air Ambulance, this is our chosen charity this year, and we look forward to hearing more about their work.

We meet on 11 August, refreshments from 7pm at the Wesley. The meeting starts at 7.30, and usually finishes by 9.30pm.

Also Elmswell WI are providing the refreshments at Elmsfest on 5 September at the Blackbourne. The cakes and drinks are deliberately priced very cheap so that everyone can enjoy the day, and all the takings go to Elmsfest and the local charities they support . We welcome any donations of cakes etc. especially if they are homemade! Just bring them to the Blackbourne on the day.

What a lovely Fish Supper evening we had last night. Lots of time to chat over a drink and some food (lovely fish and chips from Elmswell Chip Shop), a chance to get to know everyone one a bit better, and a tricky quiz to get our minds working!

Our next meeting is on Tuesday 9 July when our speaker Mary Newton is returning due to popular demand! Her talk ‘When the dogs don’t bark’ A forensic talk in the pursuit of justice looking at problematic cases that proved difficult to solve.
As ever we welcome any women who are considering joining the WI. We meet at the Wesley Hall in Elmswell on the second Tuesday of the month, refreshments from 7 with the meeting starting at 7.30

Our next meeting is on 12 May at the Wesley. Tea and coffee from 7pm. Meeting starts at 7.30pm. It is our Annual Meeting so there is some ‘business’ to attend to at the start, but that doesn’t take long. After that we have an amazing speaker, Liz O’Riordan, a renowned local breast surgeon who will be talking to us about her personal journey:

‘when a breast surgeon got breast cancer - stories from both sides of the table’

It will be a brilliant evening. Please feel free to join us if you want to see what we are about. We promise to make you welcome.
