The McConnell International Foundation was established in 2012 by Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale (First Minister of Scotland 2001-7). The Foundation works with a range of partners, focusing on education, peacebuilding and good governance. The Livingstone Volunteers is the Foundation's scheme to support young people living in Scotland to volunteer in Southern Africa, following in the footsteps of Dr David Livingstone.
