• OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE Strike Media • On Wednesday night, London’s iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square was transformed as a glowing yellow carpet replaced the traditional red carpet for the star-studded UK Gala Premiere of THE YELLOW TIE. The auditorium was packed for a memorable night celebrating the release of the film that recounts the incredible life of legendary conductor Sergiu Celibidache.

The glamorous evening brought together stars from the film alongside distinguished guests across classical music, business, and entertainment. Cast in attendance included BAFTA winner Sean Bean, Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson, Ben Schnetzer, and Kate Phillips.

They were joined on the yellow carpet by prominent VIPs, classical music luminaries, and high-profile figures.

As the credits rolled at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, the audience erupted into a prolonged standing ovation as the cast and filmmakers took to the stage.

Two-time Academy Award nominee John Malkovich (Dangerous Liaisons, Being John Malkovich) portrays Celibidache in the later years of his life, while Ben Schnetzer (The Madison, The Book Thief) plays the young conductor. They are joined by two-time Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson (Tom & Viv, Damage, Harry Potter), Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders, Downton Abbey), two-time BAFTA winner Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings), Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones, The Crown) and Charlie Rowe (Rocketman).

The film is directed by Serge Ioan Celebidachi, Maestro Celibidache's son, who co-wrote the screenplay with James Olivier. We were honoured to represent the Scottish-Romanian Alliance as media partners for The Yellow Tie at its official London premiere!

It was an absolute privilege to meet producer Adela Vrînceanu Celibidachi, director Serge Celibidachi, and co-screenwriter James Olivier in person.

The film honors the life and legacy of legendary Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache. During the pre-screening Q&A held at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, Serge shared a wonderful story about Adela finding the initial script tucked away in a drawer - and deciding to take on the challenge to bring it to the big screen alongside James, Serge's childhood friend who co-wrote the screenplay with him.

Seeing years of vision and hard work pay off on screen is truly inspiring. Beyond their immense talent, Adela, Serge and James are incredibly kind and wonderful human beings. Huge congratulations to the whole team for showcasing Romanian artistry and excellence on the global stage! 🎗️🇷🇴

An impression that lasts a lifetime.
Ahead of the UK release of The Yellow Tie, maestro Michael Crețu shared what it was like to witness the legendary Sergiu Celibidache in person as a teenager.

Coming from one of Romania's most iconic musical dynasties, and as the nephew of the great Johnny Răducanu, Michael Crețu carries a deep reverence for musical heritage. Hearing someone with music in his very DNA speak about Celibidache's genius makes this video truly special.
