In July the Bield presents a unique opportunity - to explore journeys you have taken, physically or spiritually, and to gain insights and new perspectives by engaging with them in a creative and embodied way. Led by reknowned international trainers.

What does home mean to you? A place, a feeling, a memory, a story?

This “Storied” retreat invites you to explore journeys of belonging, loss, discovery and longing through creativity, reflection, mindfulness and the embodied art form of Playback Theatre. You’ll have the chance to share stories, listen deeply, learn the basics of Playback, and even perform or witness a performance if you wish - all within a supportive and welcoming space.

No theatre experience needed - perfect for anyone curious about story, creativity, community, or navigating life transitions. Come to listen, reflect, and connect and sharing is always optional.

Playback Edinburgh are a small company of mixed age and backgrounds who meet every 3 weeks on a Saturday to share and enact each other’s stories using a variety of playback forms. Forms are simple structures on which to base improvised interactions. It caters for every mood and tale from sublime to corblimey and much that’s in between.The open rehearsal is a workshop in which you may choose to participate, or you might want to simply observe.
