Tell me more, tell me more... about the Forfar crew's trip to Grease!

Recently, Jacqueline and Michella, Support Practitioners in Forfar, took supported people to The Whitehall Theatre, Dundee to see Grease The Musical.

It was a fantastic evening out, with plenty of smiles and laughter. The group loved getting dressed up for the occasion and enjoyed the experience of seeing a live show together.

There was plenty of live music, dancing, and soaking up the festival atmosphere.

In September, Stornoway Supported People & Staff marked Scottish Disability Week with a lovely afternoon tea party!

Everyone enjoyed coming together for a great afternoon, sharing good company, plenty of chat, and some tasty treats.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make it such a special event.

It’s been a busy and exciting time at our service in Kirkriggs!

David enjoyed a fantastic short break in Liverpool, while Rhona took to the skies for the very first time to visit an old friend in Stornoway. During her trip, she also stopped by one of our services to say hello.

Clifford fulfilled a long-held dream with a visit to the Mull of Kintyre and told us that “all my dreams have come true”. Meanwhile, Mark headed to Nottingham, where he explored Sherwood Forest and posed for a photo with the famous Robin Hood statue.

Closer to home, Kate had a brilliant time at the Edinburgh Tattoo and even managed to get her picture taken with some of the leading drummers.

It’s wonderful to see people enjoying new experiences, achieving personal goals, and creating lasting memories.

As part of Scottish Learning Disability Week, we held a fantastic talent show at our Blairgowrie service, and what a show it was!

We were treated to some amazing performances, including a brilliant street dance duo, a fantastic rendition of Sandy from Grease, and some energetic dance routines that had everyone smiling and cheering along.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and shared their talents with us. It was a wonderful celebration of confidence, creativity, and having fun together.

Sunshine, smiles and great company at our annual Speak Out BBQ in Blairgowrie!

We were lucky enough to enjoy the sunshine as everyone came together for a fantastic day of food, fun and friendship.

After the BBQ, supported people enjoyed a lively game of bingo and showed off their singing talents during karaoke. It was also lovely to welcome back some former colleagues who retired a while ago, with everyone delighted to catch up and share memories.

The day also featured a craft stall, where supported people proudly sold their handmade creations.

A great day was had by all!

For Scottish Housing Day, we're celebrating the difference a safe, secure home can make.

One of our tenants told us:

‘It’s changed my life, literally. I found myself in a homeless situation last year, and getting the property through Ark has given me the stability and security that I needed.’

Important Changes to Scottish Housing Law in 2026

We have recently written to all tenants about changes to Scottish housing law that may affect Scottish secure tenants and short Scottish secure tenants.

The changes include:
Domestic abuse and tenancy rights
Changes to succession rights
Rent increase notices by email in certain circumstances
New damp and mould repair requirements coming into effect in October 2026

For most tenants, there is nothing you need to do at this stage, but we want to ensure everyone is aware of the changes and knows where to get support if needed.

Five miles walked, £200 raised!

Two of our supported people and a member of staff from Forfar took on the Kiltwalk to raise funds for Kirriemuir Food Hub.

An amazing effort for a fantastic local cause. Well done everyone!
