Glits

Glits Ladies' Choir that were based in Edinburgh. We used to meet weekly on Tuesday nights at Barclay Halls, 7.30pm - 9pm. Sadly we are no more.

Glits was an Edinburgh-based ladies choir which ran between 1996 and 2022. Starting with just nine members, the choir grew over the years to more than 30 sopranos and altos at one point. Sadly it had to disband after the covid lockdown due to a dwindling membership and the musical director resigning. We enjoyed singing a variety of material, from modern, classical and spiritual pieces to pop and

movie favourites. We alternated between concert performances (where the emphasis was wholly on the singing) and shows (where elements of dancing and acting were added to the music). Proceeds from our performances were donated to local and Scottish charities.

Nice wee bit of festive cheer at Morton hall Garden Centre next Sunday - come along and enjoy a wee something in the cafe whilst listening to some lovely Christmas tunes...
