Massive congratulations to Scottish examiner Karen Gage as she retires from examining for the RAD after 56 years- what an incredible number of years! Karen was also the former owner and Principal of Dansarena, Ayr. Join Dr Nathan James and Alex Lowe, Deputy Artistic Directors, to find out more about the new Musical Theatre syllabus. There will be a short presentation, followed by a question and answer session. This is a great opportunity to discuss this new RAD offering and to be given guidance on how to begin delivering Musical Theatre classes and examinations. The coffee morning will be 1 hour Independent CPD.

🎉 Florrie Sinclair Memorial Award 🎉

We are delighted to announce that Morven, currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is this year's recipient of the Florrie Sinclair Memorial Award.

Having achieved her Advanced 2 examination at Danscentre under the guidance of Karen Berry and Lorna Scott, Morven is now entering her final year of vocational training and preparing for auditions in classical, neoclassical, and contemporary dance.

Congratulations, Morven, on this well-deserved achievement.
We wish you every success for the future! 🌟

🎉Massive congratulations to Rhona McNab who retires this week after 52 years of teaching. Rhona trained with Marjory Middleton then Noel Nicol at what was The Scottish Ballet School and latterly The Manor School of Ballet - she was a Scottish Ballet Scholar and when she finished training, she was offered a place with the Scottish Ballet Company - she turned that down to take over from Marjory Middleton in Dunfermline at the same time opened her own school in Rose Terrace Nursery in Perth - later converting a church into beautiful studios and The Dancebank was opened. A few years later she bought a building in Dunfermline opening The Dancebank Dunfermline. Rhona has also enjoyed a varied career as a TV and theatre dancer plus also served for many years as Secretary and Committee Member on the Regional RAD Scotland committee.

A close friend commented "Rhona brought a common sense attitude to her teaching and a sense of humour plus endless flasks of tea, which made long CPD courses and new syllabus weeks all the more enjoyable. Rhona is one of the most influential women in my life as she encouraged and inspired me to follow my dream of having a career in dance. I’m sure RAD teachers all over the country will join me in sending her love and wishing her many wonderful adventures in her retirement"

Rhona- your humour, your stories and sense of fun will be missed greatly by me - wishing you and Martin all the very best for the next exciting chapter in life. All good wishes Jennifer 💐
