Happy World Autism Acceptance Day! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก
Today, and every day, weโ€™re celebrating the incredible strengths, talents, and perspectives of autistic people everywhere.

At Autism Initiatives, our mission is to move beyond just "awareness." Weโ€™re all about acceptance, inclusion, and empowerment. Every day, we see firsthand the amazing contributions autistic individuals make to our communities, and today is all about honouring each person's unique journey.

Letโ€™s work together to create a world where everyone is understood and supported to be their authentic selves.

Keep your eyes peeled, as over the next few days we'll be sharing how the teams at our services are celebrating.

We are proud to introduce the Autism Acceptance Tartan, now available on our website.

Designed in partnership with the Autism Acceptance Clan, this tartan was created through genuine community collaboration during National Autism Acceptance Month 2025. A public survey invited input from the neurodivergent community and their supporters, ensuring the colours and symbolism truly reflect the people it represents.

The design includes 20 white threads to mark the 20th Anniversary of Number 6 One Stop Shop for Autistic Adults, a vital service provided by Autism Initiatives Scotland. A yellow stripe represents โ€˜Auโ€™ for gold, widely used within the autism community as shorthand for autism.

Every element of this tartan celebrates diversity, strength and unity, creating a design that is both deeply meaningful and proudly Scottish.
