Five years ago, we launched live chat on our Stop It Now helpline to meet an urgent need: a safe, confidential way for people to seek help when phone calls weren’t possible.

Since then, 3,494 people have made 7,098 contacts through chat. For many, it was their first step in getting help — and in preventing further harm.

Live chat is a proven intervention: it prevents offending, supports people with additional needs, and ultimately protects children.

But we can’t do it alone. We’re asking for your support to raise £15,000 to keep this lifeline running.

We are proud to partner with Police Scotland to relaunch the Get Help or Get Caught campaign – a powerful initiative aimed at tackling online child sexual abuse and exploitation in Scotland.

The campaign delivers a clear message: support is available to stop harmful behaviour before it leads to a crime.

As Stuart Allardyce, our Director, explains:

“The reasons for viewing sexual images of children or engaging in online grooming are complex, and many people recognise that what they are doing is wrong. Often, they feel trapped in a cycle of compulsive behaviour. Seeking individualised, anonymous, and non-judgmental support is absolutely the right step to take.”

The Scottish Parliament addressed the issue of sibling sexual abuse (SSA) in a debate last week.

It's vital that parents, carers and professionals understand sibling sexual behaviour and how to respond.
