We’re thrilled to announce the finalists of this year’s Words of the Wild writing competition!

From almost 700 entries, 18 have made it to this stage, with the winners set to be announced at National Museums Scotland on Saturday 24 October.

As always, adult and junior winners will be selected for English, Scots and Gaelic, but we have an additional category this year – our first ever People’s Choice Award.

Everyone in Montrose is getting into the spirit of GooseFest!

In keeping with the geese’s most notable feature, both the women’s and men’s teams at Montrose Football Club will be wearing pink socks for their next home matches.

Not a bad view from the office!

Here's Billy, our ecologist at Scottish Wildlife Trust Inverbroom, carrying out some biological water sampling as part of our survey work.

Alongside a team of specialist contractors and dedicated volunteers, Billy has undertaken a wide range of surveys over the last few months. The team are now collating everything they have learned thus far and will use the results to inform evidence-led action over the next five years.

This , we are celebrating the winners of our Streams of Creativity competition! 🌊

Wildlife Watch groups from across Scotland submitted artwork showcasing the importance of river woodlands and the wildlife that calls them home.

🏆Congratulations to the winners, Motherwell Wildlife Watch, for The River Protectors - a short film depicting river animals and spirits working together to stop litter and tackle invasive species.

👏 And to our runners-up, Montrose Basin Wildlife Watch, whose giant collage captures the wildlife and landscapes around the Basin.

Thank you to every group that took part and helped tell the story of these unique habitats.
