Veterans’ Capital Housing Fund 🏠

Today we are delighted to announce that VHS has been chosen as one of the 11 organisations to be awarded a significant grant from the Office for Veterans' Affairs

This will be administered by the armedforcescovfundtrust. This grant will enable us to carry out renovation works in our properties, including windows and doors ensuring our beneficiaries homes are warm and draught free.

Leonard Harper Gow, Great-Grandson of our founder Sir Lord Salvesen has commented saying “This grant will help us move forward with our ambitious renovation programme ensuring we can safeguard our homes for disabled veterans, some of which date back to when my late great grandfather established the charity in 1915.

Visiting Officers Karen & Larry attended the Dundee SSAFA AGM, they were able to discuss support needs for veterans in the area with Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Angus and Maj General (RM retired) Martin Smith along with President Dundee & Angus SSAFA branch and VHS Trustee councillor Ronnie Proctor.

The visiting officers were able to meet up with their counterparts at DMWS as we continue to support veterans alike , and in particular those going through a medical pathway. 🤝🏻🤝🏻
