Steri Systems 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼

The final count is in!

Our partners at Steri Systems have raised a fantastic £3,859 for VHS. We would like to thank their team who took in the Islay half marathon in August.

As a charity we are so pleased Steri Systems chose to support us, with every penny going towards providing low-cost housing and support to disabled veterans. Thank you Steri Systems!

🏠 Armed Forces Accommodation in the Cairngorms 🏠

Visiting Officer Karen, was representing VHS at rothiemurchus_lodge on Friday as service charities came together to network and learn how the veterans community can benefit from the lodges.

Rothiemurchus Lodge has a long-standing relationship with the Armed Forces, providing a practical and welcoming base for adventure training and time away in a unique environment.

Available for veterans, military families, blue light services and now youth organisations.

Karen was also able to discuss matters with MSP and Minister for Parliamentary Business and Veterans Jamie Hepburn.

⛳️ Caddie School ⛳️

On Friday our Visiting Officer Josh was in St Andrews supporting The Caddie School For Soldiers September intake.

Throughout 2026 VHS has been part of the Support Service Group alongside charities and partners like;

DMWS
Vector24
SSAFA Scotland
britarmygolf
Legion Scotland
sacro

All working together to support the training of veterans wounded in service. The school has gone on to see great success with an overwhelmingly majority of veterans completing the course and going on to find work within the golf industry.

This is not possible without the fantastic job the school does with mentoring and training led by Ken McIntosh and David Gilchrist.

🥁🥁🥁 VHS attend Tattoo 🥁🥁🥁

On Tuesday night some of our beneficiaries enjoyed an evening at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, complete with a flyover from a Typhoon jet.

We would like to thank The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for gifting us the tickets and to those who entered the ticket draw which featured in our newsletter and social media post.

Our beneficiaries had this to say;

“We really enjoyed ourselves - thank you for the tickets”
“Brilliant event, it has changed a lot since I last saw it 20 years ago”
