Richmond Mencap exists to improve the lives and opportunities of children and adults with learning disabilities within Richmond upon Thames, their family carers and other family member

Our Richmond Mencap Barn Dance is happening on Saturday 9th May, 6 to 9pm 🕺💃

Join us at our fundraising Barn Dance! Hosted by Richmond Mencap, this lively event is a special fundraising evening, helping to support our vital work with people with learning disabilities and their families across the local community.

Taking place on Saturday, 9th May, 6–9pm, at St Mary’s Church Hall in Twickenham, the barn dance promises a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can join in—no dance experience needed. A friendly caller will guide you through the steps, making it perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers alike.

✨ What to expect:
Fun, easy-to-follow barn dancing; a relaxed, inclusive environment; and a delicious supper included

Tickets are £25 per person, and carers can attend free of charge.

Parents and carers are invited to a free information evening designed to help families better understand and support children with dyslexia.

Hosted by the Richmond Dyslexia Association, the event “Supporting Your Dyslexic Child” will bring together specialists and local experts to provide practical advice, guidance and support for families navigating dyslexia.

📅 Monday 27 April
🕖 7:15pm – 9:00pm
📍 Richmond Library Annexe, Quadrant Road, Richmond TW9 1DH

This friendly and informative session is an opportunity to learn more about dyslexia and discover what help is available locally. Attendees will be able to speak directly with dyslexia specialists, a SEN lawyer and a SENCo, who will be on hand to answer questions and provide guidance.

During the evening you can:

Get free advice from dyslexia specialists

Learn about support and services available in the local area

Connect with other parents and share experiences

Access free information handouts

Browse books and games designed to support dyslexic learners

Whether your child has recently been identified as dyslexic or you are looking for new ways to support their learning, the event aims to provide practical tools, reassurance and a chance to connect with others in the community.
