Members of the East Grinstead Lions Club visited Ducklys Farm to see the polytunnels they donated in action, accompanied by Paul and Robert.
Last year, the Lions generously donated three polytunnels to the farm. During the colder months, the Community Services team set the polytunnels up, created raised beds and prepared them for their first growing season this year. The Lions were delighted to see the polytunnels filled with various vegetables and plants including tomatoes, aloe vera, cucumbers, lettuce, basil, parsley, squash, ginger and more.
Taking a break from the heat and humidity of the polytunnels under the shade of our large oak tree, the Lions heard about potential future polytunnel crops, including dwarf bananas and other tropical produce, before saying hello to the goats and alpacas and heading back up to the Day Centre for a cold drink.
