The countdown is officially on! Next Saturday, 13th June, we're bringing our first big Sussex Day celebrations and we want all of you there.
Here is a quick reminder of the action-packed day we have planned:

11:50 Noon: The incredible Skull Drummery kicks things off with a thumping procession through Queen’s Walk down to The Sussex Arms.

Afternoon: Sizzling BBQ, face painting for the kids, and our brilliant Teddy Tombola, sponsor a torch and other stalls.

Evening: Top-tier live music to keep the party going into the night.

Best of all? Every single tombola ticket turned, plate smashed and torch sponsored helps us fund our massive October 17th Bonfire Night! 💥

🔥Sussex Day Celebration: Saturday 13th June! 🔥

Get ready for a fantastic day out with East Grinstead Community Bonfire! We are bringing the heat to Sussex Day, and you won't want to miss a single moment of the fun.
Here is what we have lined up for you:

🥁 The Grand Procession (12:00 Noon)
Kickstarting the celebrations, the incredible SkullDrummery will be leading a vibrant procession. Follow the rhythm as they march through Queen’s Walk and make their way down to The Sussex Arms.

🍔 Afternoon Family Fun (From 12:00 PM)
Once we arrive at The Sussex Arms, the party really starts! Bring the whole family down for an afternoon packed with entertainment:

Sizzling BBQ – Delicious food served hot off the grill.
Stalls & Games – Try your luck at our legendary Teddy Tombola!

Face Painting – Perfect for keeping the little ones entertained.

Live Music Evening
As the sun goes down, the energy stays up. Stick around into the evening for fantastic live music to dance the night away.

Every single penny raised during our Sussex Day event goes directly towards funding our main October 17th Bonfire Night. Your support helps us keep this incredible community tradition alive, loud, and spectacular!

Meet John Francis Moss, a man whose dedication is the quiet heartbeat of East Grinstead Community Bonfire. He may have moved to North Yorkshire, but his heart remains firmly with us!
As our Membership Secretary, John is so much more than just an administrator. He’s the connective tissue of our organisation, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure new members are welcomed, existing members feel valued, and the true spirit of the Bonfire Family stays alive.
His commitment is inspiring.

🔥 WE ARE FIRED UP! 🔥
Weather forecast: 27°C. 🌡️
Team spirit: Absolute maximum! 💪
Today, our incredible team braved the blazing heat to hand-craft over 500 torches for our spectacular event on Saturday 17th October 2026.
That’s 500 down, and we're aiming for over 1,400 in total, so only 900 more to go! Now that is what you call true dedication to bringing you an unforgettable night.

A massive shout-out to the whole crew who sweated it out, wrapped hessian, and prepped the wood. We do it all for the show! 🙌✨
