Already stocking up for our next distribution of clothes and shoes to the sanctuary-seekers of Ealing.

So grateful to Goods for Good for providing so many new items (especially the shoes - EVERYONE wants new shoes) and to Big Yellow for the storage - we couldn’t make it work without you.

Hope we can do it soon….

Local Election day is upon us.

And while democracy is clearly A GOOD THING, it means no hot lunch and very restricted space for our hub.

So we made the best of it: put the info team in a side chapel; played silly English language games in the body of the Kirk and had the food bank and nappies in an aisle.

The place resounded with laughter at the English team’s daft games. And maybe some learnt some English too…

Wonderful - after a gap of several months after our last barber got refugee status and moved away - to have the barber’s tools in use again.

R, a refugee from Morocco, who has volunteered as a barber with Care4Calais, trilled several men - and then was shorn himself by another new member.

We now have a stable (!) of barbers.

Our next distribution of clothes, shoes and suitcases is only a week away.

We have some nice new things stashed away at Big Yellow Self Storage up the road.

But we do need more pre-loved clothes and shoes for men and women and children.

Do you have anything suitable - in good condition.

We can suggest places to drop it or maybe even come a pick up (if you are in Acton or Ealing or at a pinch, Chiswick.

Please reply below if you can help

Thanks

Last drop-in before half-term and of course, Valentine’s Day.

Our Albanian members were particularly keen on this week’s art activity of making and decorating hearts.

Plus we had biryani courtesy of a local mosque and loads of eggs to distribute. (Always hugely popular) so general aura of celebration….

See you after half-term

Busy week at our hub with lots of people attending. And a visitor, Robert from Goods4Good who send us new clothes and nappies and other stuff to distribute: both incredibly helpful and ecologically sound.

And we distributed the first 11 of our laptops recently donated for our members - to much joy…

While the art desk was surrounded by those wanting to make pretty things with beads: our most popular offering yet - well done volunteer Ros.

First day back for 2026 and great to see so many familiar faces - both volunteer and member.

Plus some new people including two street-homeless Eritrean women, who have just got refugee status and been evicted from their accommodation. So pleased we were there to help with referrals to Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter and homeless charities.

Extra boost today because our local mosque donated vegetable and chicken biryani as our lunch main course and there were some delicious The Felix Project spiced apple cakes too.

All in all, facing 2026 and all its anxieties, well-supported and able to help the most vulnerable in our community.
