Reading together is a great way to support your child’s development whilst having fun. You can start long before your child is able to read the words themselves and even babies/toddlers can enjoy the sound of your voice, the colour of the pictures and being able to follow a story from start to finish. Fathers Reading Every Day (FRED) is a four-week programme designed for men with children under th
e age of five to get into the habit of reading with their child. FRED is open to all significant male figures in a child’s life including fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles and older brothers. To join your local FRED programme contact your nearest Children’s Centre either in person, by phone or by email.
