🚨URGENT APPEAL — THE BURTON FOUR 🚨
We urgently need foster homes for four dogs who have been used for backyard breeding and are currently being kept outside.
Meet Maggie, Loki, Maya and Luna.
All four are somewhat related, and there is a real risk of further pregnancies if they are left waiting for foster placements. We desperately need to get them into safe, loving homes where they can finally experience what life should be like.
Despite everything, all four are incredibly friendly and crave human attention. They take treats gently and are happy around visiting children, although older, dog-savvy children are recommended while they learn about home life and routines.
They will need patient foster homes where they can learn toilet training, household routines and lead walking. There may also be some destruction as they adjust to living inside. A regular routine, patience and reassurance will be key.
MAGGIE — 9 YEARS OLD
Maggie is an independent girl who will come over for attention in her own time. She enjoys having her own space and likes to eat away from the other dogs. She could be an only dog or live with a calm, neutered male.
Maggie is lead trained and clever, but she is known to try to escape, so a secure home is essential. No cats or small furries. She will also need her teeth checked as she is showing signs of discomfort.
LOKI — 2/3 YEARS OLD
Loki is affectionate and loves meeting people. She could potentially live with similar-sized, spayed females. She is not lead trained but has allowed a slip lead to be put on. No cats or small furries.
MAYA — 2/3 YEARS OLD
Maya loves being the centre of attention and will happily jump up for kisses. She doesn't react to dogs outside her current pack and could potentially live with similar-sized dogs, but no intact males.
She is not lead trained and may try to back out of a slip lead. She does know how to sit and wait for food. No cats or small furries.
LUNA — 2/3 YEARS OLD
Luna is the smallest of the group and can squeeze through surprisingly small gaps, so a very secure home is essential. She tends to prefer men for attention.
She doesn't react to dogs outside her current pack and could potentially live with similar-sized dogs, but no intact males. She is not lead trained and can be shy, particularly when something is being put over her head. No cats or small furries.
These girls have spent their lives being used for breeding. Now we have the chance to show them that life can be so much more.
Fostering won't necessarily be easy. There may be accidents, a learning curve and some destruction as they discover home life. But you will also get to watch a dog discover comfort, love, routine and freedom for the very first time.
