Dungannon Foodbank

Dungannon Foodbank Dungannon Foodbank offers a warm welcome, emergency food support and signposting of services to those in need in our local community.

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Please note we are closed this week, so there will be no food bank session tomorrow.

Ally was delighted to be invited to address the Dungannon Enterprise Centre Board to share some insights into the support Dungannon Foodbank provides to people in our community.

Thank you to them for the invitation.

The DEC Board recently welcomed guest Ally Moore from , who shared important insights into the vital support they provide to individuals and families in our community, including helping 338 local households in 2025.

At DEC, we continue to strengthen connections with local community organisations and voluntary groups, working together to make a positive impact across Dungannon.

We were delighted to receive happy post from National Trust Mid Ulster! These Acorn Passes were given out to our guests a little while back and we know they will all enjoy a fun filled family day out!

Thank you very much to the National Trust team for their generosity, so lovely to be able to pass on something like this to our guests.

What does the Spring Statement mean for people on the lowest incomes?

✅ The Chancellor highlighted actions to tackle hunger so far. Removing the two-child limit will pull 470,000 children out of severe hardship.

But, what do we need to see next?

❗ A lift to the freeze on Local Housing Allowance, to ensure that support covers the cost of rents.
❗ Steps towards an independent process which makes sure the rate of Universal Credit always covers the cost of essentials.

This cannot be the end. Food bank need remains well above levels 5 years ago and many people are still struggling to afford the essentials.

We need a plan that truly tackles hunger and hardship in the UK.

Great to see the signs of spring. 🌱 There's lots we can learn from the changing seasons.
