A Fantastic Day Out at the Balmoral Show!
On Wednesday, our service users from Residential, Supported Living and Day Opportunities enjoyed a fantastic day out at the Balmoral Show.
Although the weather was a little mixed at times, it certainly did not stop the fun! Everyone had a great time exploring the showgrounds, seeing all the different animals, tractors, quads and large farming machinery. There was plenty to see and lots of opportunities to learn more about local farming and rural life along the way.
The group also enjoyed a lovely picnic together, plenty of laughs, chats and a well-earned cup of tea and snacks throughout the day.
A big thank you to our amazing staff team who supported the trip and helped make the day so enjoyable for everyone. These outings take a lot of planning and teamwork, and we are very grateful for the care, support and positivity our staff bring to experiences like this.
Trips like these are always special, bringing people together, creating memories and giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy new experiences in the community.
We think there may have been a few tired faces on the bus home afterwards!

A Very Special Birthday Celebration

This week, we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating William’s birthday in style!

William, along with his friends and our wonderful staff team, enjoyed a fantastic day out at Tanaghmore Animal Farm. From meeting the animals to sharing plenty of laughs, it was a day full of joy, connection, and memorable moments.

The celebrations didn’t stop there…
There were ice creams, coffee treats, and of course, a delicious birthday cake to mark the occasion, all enjoyed in great company!

Moments like these truly capture what our Day Opportunities service is all about: creating meaningful experiences, building friendships, and supporting people to enjoy life to the fullest

A huge thank you to our staff team who made this day possible. Your care, creativity, and dedication turn simple outings into unforgettable experiences.

Yesterday, we celebrated a very special milestone as our dear colleague Laverne Meeke retired after many years of dedicated service.
We marked the occasion with a lovely lunch, beautiful flowers, a surprise gift, and of course a delicious cake. It was a truly warm and emotional gathering, filled with memories, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation.
Laverne has touched so many lives through her kindness, dedication, and care. She has been not just a valued member of staff, but a true friend to many, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Laverne, thank you for everything you have given over the years. We wish you a happy, relaxing, and well-deserved retirement. You will always remain part of Parkanaur Trust family. ❤️

Birthday Fun for James!
Last week, Gerald, Michael, Sarah, and James enjoyed a fantastic afternoon out to celebrate James’ 25th birthday!
They started with a tasty meal at McDonald’s (burgers, fries, and plenty of laughs 😄) before heading to the bowling alley for some friendly competition. The atmosphere was full of smiles, high-fives, and cheers, and of course… the birthday champion James took home the win!
It’s always so lovely seeing this amazing group hanging out together, making memories, and enjoying each other’s company. Here’s to many more days filled with friendship, laughter, and strikes!

What a day to remember!

Our service users, staff, and the ever-wonderful volunteer teamed up for another fantastic adventure, this time to the Balmoral Show! From adorable animals to massive machinery, there was so much to see, do, and enjoy.

Martin’s birthday got an unforgettable surprise too… a chance encounter with none other than Brian Dooher from Tyrone GAA! A truly special birthday gift for a truly special man.

With the sun shining bright, we made the most of the beautiful weather, enjoying tasty snacks, refreshing drinks, and plenty of laughter along the way. Days like these remind us how meaningful connection, community, and a bit of fun can be!

Saturday nights are for good food, great company, and Gaelic football!
Gerald, Martin, and John had a brilliant evening at Canavan’s watching the Armagh vs Donegal match, enjoying tasty bites and plenty of laughs.

Well done to Donegal on the win, and hard luck, Armagh! Gerald and John are already hopeful for a different result next time!

Adventure to Titanic Belfast!
What an unforgettable day our service users had on a trip to Titanic Belfast! With the amazing support of our dedicated Parkanaur staff, everyone enjoyed exploring this iconic museum, learning about the history of the Titanic, and most importantly, having lots of laughs and fun along the way!
The day didn’t end there, we also hit the lanes for some friendly bowling, followed by some delicious food shared with great company.
