Fascinatingly Different by Emma Mitchell

Fascinatingly Different is a bespoke Millinery & Hat design service
that produces innovative & sustainable hat designs that are unique
to each Undividual. Handmade using the traditional heritage
craft of Millinery techniques whilst Using traditional
& futuristic materials to produce headpieces for every occasion

I have over 20 years design experience & started millinery as a hobby a few years ago just
making for myself & friends & family. But my designs proved to be so popular I decided to
take the next step & Fascinatingly Different was born.

Im interested in all kinds of design from Art, Architecture, fashion, Sculpture & many more. I
design and make all my hats & fascinators myself by hand using a variety of materials. What
makes me different? I love reinventing, reusing, recyling & using materials that you would
never think off to make unique quirky, one-offs hats & fascinators that will match your outfit
as well as your personality

Emma works by appointment from her studio in Dumfries & Galloway & it part of Scotlands Hat Walk Team.

Good morning Scotland Hat Walkers!
Today is the day and lets kick it off with a little about our wonderful Charity. Chosen by us and for very good reason indeed. Brain Tumour Research our Charity of choice to raise vital funds for the much needed Research Centre of Excellence in Edinburgh.

we want our event to and efforts to go to this amazing charity and all funds recieved to remain in scotland. Lets change the story for Scotland Brain Tumour sufferers and find a cure through research.

The new Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence will bring together the largest group of world-leading brain cancer experts in the UK to accelerate research into glioblastoma (GBM).

Your donation will help them get clinical trials underway for this highly aggressive
brain tumour which has a devastatingly short average survival time of just 12-18 months.

It will host scientists from theuniversities of Edinburgh and Glasgow focused on ensuring promising new scientific discoveries are progressed into trials to bring patients benefit now and in the future.

Brain Tumour Research is focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours and
the new Centre will be our first in Scotland, harnessing the brain power of Scottish researchers to benefit Scottish patients. We are collaborating with Beatson Cancer Charity to achieve this.

all your donations to fundraiser will make such a difference:

£25 will fund a PhD student for a morning to carry out discovery research, helping to accelerate the journey to breakthroughs that could lead to new clinical trials and kinder treatments

£50 will pay for an hour of a Senior Research Fellow’s day running the lab, developing and co-ordinating vital research projects from the team of PhD students

£100 will fund a morning’s work by one of our scientists investigating gene sequencing to help discover new drug targets for GBM tumours

I love to select luxury materials, such as fabrics, feathers, and embellishments, and use specialised techniques like blocking, sewing, and trimming to bring my designs to life.

My goal is to create headwear that not only complements the wearer's style and personality but also enhances their overall look, making them feel confident and special for any occasion.

Above all, I prioritise comfort and quality, ensuring that your hat not only looks exquisite but feels comfortable enough to wear for a lifetime of cherished memories.
