The Archie Foundation Tayside

The Archie Foundation Tayside We aim to make the difference for children in healthcare and bereavement. The Archie Foundation relies wholly on support from the local communities.

Our vision is that all children in our local areas will have equal access to world-class healthcare and bereavement support, delivered in a child-appropriate environment and manner. The Archie Foundation aims to transform experiences and outcomes in healthcare and bereavement for children and their families across the north of Scotland. In Tayside we do this by working in partnership with our coll

eagues at NHS Tayside and with a number of public and private sector services supporting local children across the region. We receive no financial support from the NHS or from the local authorities. We need your help to keep making a difference for Tayside children and families when they need it the most. Can you organise a fundraising event? Whether a ball for 500 people or a dinner party at home where you ask your guests to make a donation for the privilege – every single penny really does help. Our fundraisers do almost everything to raise money. Some run, others bake, a few even jump out of planes! But they all have one thing in common. They all make a difference to local children. And we are all very grateful.

Nathan and Jenny had the most fantastic time visiting Summers Nursery in Aberdeen for their cheque presentation celebration, where representatives from all 5 nursery locations came together to mark an incredible year of fundraising!🩵

We are so grateful to have been chosen as their Charity of the Year for 2025. The nurseries chose to fundraise to directly support Archie’s Child Bereavement Service, helping children and families navigate the heartbreak of loss🪁

After a staff member sadly lost her husband, the service was there to support the entire family during such a difficult time. Seeing first-hand the impact this support had, the nursery teams were shown just how vital this service is within our community.

The 5 nurseries were absolutely incredible with their fundraising efforts throughout the year, taking part in the Kiltwalk, hosting coffee mornings, and getting families and local communities involved every step of the way✨

A huge thank you to everyone at Summers Nursery for your continued and unwavering support. We are so incredibly grateful, and together we're delighted to announce that they raised an amazing £16,200.48!! 🎉

We’re also delighted to share that Summers Nursery will be supporting Archie once again this year, this time fundraising for Neonatal Services.

Meet our Kiltwalkers 💙

Say hello to Cath Walker, one of our wonderful Bereavement Support Workers at The Archie Foundation.

This will be Cath’s second time taking part in the Kiltwalk and she is no stranger to a challenge, having previously completed the London Marathon.

Cath says:
“I love raising money for charity and being part of such a joyful event where people come together to do something kind for others.” 💜

This year, Cath will be walking alongside fellow bereavement support workers Jenny and Aleysha, and is looking forward to plenty of chats and laughter along the way.

Cath shared how proud she is to work for Archie and to see first-hand the impact the charity has on children, young people and families across local communities every day.

In April, our Archie Family Centre in Aberdeen welcomed families from near and far, including families from Tayside, providing a safe and supportive place to stay while their child received care in Aberdeen 💙

For some families, their stay is planned ahead of treatment or appointments. For others, a room is needed unexpectedly in an emergency, when there is no nearby accommodation while their baby or child is in hospital.

We are incredibly proud to be able to offer families a home away from home here at RACH, helping them stay close to their child when it matters most ⭐

Every night of accommodation is made possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters, thank you for helping us be there for families when they need it most.

If you would like to support vital services like our Family Centre, we would love to hear from you 📩 [email protected]
