⭐Lead support for access to learning in DUNDEE⭐

The Adult Achievement Award (AAA) is a perfect opportunity for adults to gain a formally recognised qualification after they have learned new skills and gained new knowledge in a situation that doesn’t necessarily lead to a formal qualification, for example volunteering in the community.

Lead Scotland actively supports individuals who would like to gain an Adult Achievement Award by providing 1 to 1 or group support in learning spaces or at home.

Lately Lead was collaborating with Dundee Futures, a small charity based at Hillcrest Futures, a small charity based in Dundee. During weekly group sessions we worked with the participants on completing their workbooks and reflective journals for the qualification.

If you are interested in doing an AAA, please get in touch with our Dundee Learning Coordinator Rolf Black. You can find his contact details and further information about Lead Scotland’s work in Dundee on the LEAD Dundee Learning website:

As we reflect on Deaf Awareness Week, our team recently took part in Deafblind Awareness Training 'Touching More Lives' delivered by the brilliant Deafblind Scotland.

The training gave us invaluable insights into different communication methods – including printed, tactile, and visual – and deepened our understanding of the causes and effects of deafblindness. We also explored assistive technologies, their efficacy and how they can transform lives.

What made the sessions truly impactful were the powerful videos and audio experiences that helped us better understand what it feels like to navigate the world with single or dual sensory loss.

A huge thank you to Deafblind Scotland – we highly recommend this training to anyone working to make their services more inclusive.

Do You Know a Young Carer based in Fife?

🌟 Do You Know a Young Carer based in Fife? 🌟

We’re excited to share our Befriending Project for Fife Young Carers – and we need your help to spread the word! 💬✨

If you know someone aged 12–18 who helps care for a family member at home, they could benefit from a little extra support and a friendly face each week 💛

Our project offers 1–3 hours a week of meaningful time with one of our fully trained and PVG-checked befrienders. It’s all about connection, fun, and confidence building – whether it’s:

🛍️ Going shopping together
🎭 Joining a local club or thematic group
☕ Catching up over coffee
🎳 A game of bowling
🎬 Or even a movie night!

It's a great way for young carers to have time just for them, meet someone new, and enjoy a bit of normality and support outside of their caring role.

👀 Spot our poster in your area and feel free to share it!
📩 Know a young carer who could benefit? Or want to volunteer as a befriender and make a difference in a young person’s life? Send us a message – we’d love to hear from you!

Let’s help make life a little brighter for the amazing young carers in our communities 💙
