Next Friday. 📅

Our networking morning is Friday 30 October, 10am at Malmaison Dundee. £20, £15 for members.

It has been quite an autumn. Twenty five years, a new brand and an anniversary dinner. Next Friday is the first time most of us will be in a room together since.

If you have been meaning to come along, this is the one. Everyone welcome, first time or your fiftieth.

Search Women Ahead Enterprise on Eventbrite to book, or message us.

One of our members has just been named the best in Scotland at what she does. 💜

Cake or Dice is Board Game Café of the Year at the Scotland Prestige Awards. Laura Stevenson is a premium member of ours, and Cake or Dice is a community interest company, so what it earns goes back into what it is for.

Which is not really board games. It is a room where people feel comfortable.

Congratulations Laura and everyone at Cake or Dice!

Most business networks don't last five years. We've just done twenty five 💜

Three things seem to make the difference.

People pay, so people are committed. Members show up for each other without being asked. And the whole thing can run without any one person in the room, which we found out in August when our newest board member ran a session on her own with the rest of the board away.

Twenty five years is not something you earn once. It is something you keep being true.

Have you been part of a group that lasted, or one that folded? What was the difference?

Think of one woman in your business who is two or three years from running something.

You can promote her. You can pay her properly. You can send her on a course.

What you cannot do from inside your own walls is put her in a room of women at exactly the same point. That is not a gap in your leadership. It is a limit of being one organisation.

That is what corporate membership of Women Ahead Enterprise is for. Mentoring, peer circles, masterclasses, and a network twenty five years deep across Tayside.

£650 a year, for your team rather than for her alone. A small founding group this anniversary year.

Meet the man behind our new look. 💜

Frank Duncan of Blackline Studios designed our new brand and he did his homework. The lettering comes from the Dundee Women's Trail plaques. The proportions come from the Discovery. The bar between WOMEN and AHEAD has stayed exactly where it has been since 2001.

We asked for a logo and got something that actually says who we are.

Thank you Frank. If you need a designer who listens properly, he is your man.

£17 billion. 💜

That is what Women's Enterprise Scotland estimates closing the gender gap in enterprise is worth to Scotland.

Here is our bit of it. Over 300 women in business supported across Tayside in the last four years.

This anniversary year we are opening a Founding Corporate Circle to a small number of local organisations. Team places at our events and leadership programmes, mentoring for the women in your business, national ASB membership, your logo across everything we do, and an annual social impact report for your own reporting.

£650 a year.

Say hello to the new us. ✨

Twenty five years old and this week we are launching our new brand.

Dundee and Angus comes off the logo and Enterprise, est. 2001 goes on. Not because we are leaving Dundee, but because we are no longer only Dundee. From the heart of Dundee, across Angus and out into Scotland.

The typography comes from the Dundee Women’s Trail plaques. The proportions come from the Discovery. And the bar between women and AHEAD stays exactly where it has been since 2001.

The next twenty five years start here. 💜

Twenty five years. 💜

On Friday night we held our 25th Anniversary Dinner and our Chair Delia Smith-Bucur spoke about the women who built this. Not the milestones but the people.

The women who started it in 2001. The ones who kept it going when it would have been easier not to. And the ones in the room on Friday doing exactly the same thing now.

One line of Delia’s stuck with us. It was never the size of the town you came from. It is the size of the mind you choose to embrace.

Thank you to every woman who has been part of this. Here is to the next twenty five.
